Denise Richards interrupts scuba diving lesson to take her little ladies for a dip

It wasn't all work and no play for actress-turned-reality TV star Denise Richards this week as she took a scuba diving lesson in Malibu.

Thirty-eight-year-old Denise also managed to squeeze in some fun pool time with her daughters Sam, five, and four-year-old Lola Rose - her children with former husband, actor Charlie Sheen.

The two youngsters – who were clearly thrilled to join their mum in the water - can occasionally be seen in the beauty's fly-on-the-wall TV show Denise Richards: It's Complicated...[Link]

A dive to help the reefs includes a rock star

Aerosmith lead guitarist Joe Perry focused on combing ocean reefs for trash instead of perfecting guitar riffs Saturday.

The musician was not alone -- he was accompanied by his wife, Billie Perry, and about 85 other divers who dedicated the day to scooping up trash left in the waters off Lido and Longboat keys.

The Perrys, who have a second home on Longboat Key, found themselves with extra time this weekend after an Aerosmith concert in Tampa was canceled because lead singer Steven Tyler has an injured leg.

The pair read an article about the cleanup in a local magazine and decided to put their 25 years of diving experience to work for a noble cause...[Link]

'Billy Mays here!' even after death

When you've got a pitch as good as Billy Mays, death can't still your voice.

The bearded TV commercial pitchman who died of a heart attack June 28, "returns" in a new Mighty Tape commercial, the last he recorded for Media Enterprises, a marketing company based in Trevose, PA.

Traveling with the Stars: Jeff Probst

Jeff Probst, the host of Survivor since the show's inception in 2000, has traveled to every continent except Antarctica— "Not that I have anything against penguins," he quips — and dozens of countries. This season's finale from Tocantins, Brazil, airs May 17 on CBS. He shares his travel highlights and tips with USA TODAY.

Q: What's your favorite vacation spot?

A: Survivor has taken me to some breathtaking spots around the world. I think the most beautiful is Palau in Micronesia. The water is so clear you can see 30-40 feet. It is home to some of the best scuba diving and snorkeling in the world. The most famous dive spot in Palau is called "Blue Corner" where the current is so strong that you must clip onto a rock and just hang out watching the entire sea world swim past. For something very different, try scuba diving ship wrecks and Japanese zero planes left over from WWII. Jellyfish Lake is one of the most amazing one-of-a-kind experiences ever. There is a section of fresh water where thousands of non-stinging jellyfish live. It's like swimming in a kaleidoscope. It's absolutely stunning and because they have lost their necessity to sting, there is no worry. Food tip: The Bem Ermii Hamburger stand is a fixture in Palau. Order a burger with the works...[USAToday]

The Girls Next Door: "Scuba, Scuba Do!" Review

I got some great news this week. Bridget Marquardt will be hosting a series on The Travel Channel where she'll be visiting the world's most amazing beaches. I don't hide the fact that she's my favorite of The Girls Next Door. Not only do I think she's the prettiest and the funniest, I also think she's got the best personality. Imagining her hosting a travel show is an easy thing to do and I look forward to tuning in -- especially now that I know scuba diving will be involved.

"Scuba, Scuba Do!" was all about the girls becoming scuba certified. It was Bridget that really needed this certification, but as the ladies often do, she asked the other two to come along for the ride. Holly was into it, but Kendra came at the experience a bit half-assed. She confessed that becoming scuba certified was something she had always wanted to do, but when given the opportunity, Kendra was less than enthusiastic...[IGN.com]
